Liquid jets during bubble bursting
Intoduction
When bubbles rise and burst at air-liquid interfaces, they can form liquid jets, spraying aerosol droplets into the air (pictured). Lee et al. show that bubbles below a critical size do not form liquid jets; this finding may aid the prevention of jet formation in industry, and allow accurate incorporation of aerosol production in climate models.
